Cisco TVOICE 8.0: Troubleshooting MOH and MTP Issues

Overview/Description
Today, Cisco Unified Communications system functionality requires the use of media resources such as transcoding and music on hold (MOH). These media resources can be either software- or hardware-based. Both methods have their own possible unique issues. These tools also increase the complexity of the Cisco Unified Communications system and make it more challenging to troubleshoot. The music on hold (MOH) feature lets you place on- and off-net users on hold with music from a streaming source. This feature includes the end-user hold and the network hold. Network hold includes transfer hold, conference hold, and park hold. A Media Termination Point (MTP) device is required in scenarios in which Cisco Unified Communications Manager must relay calls that use special signaling methods like H.323 fast start, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) early offer, H.323 supplementary services, or repacketization of audio stream. MTP, a Cisco software application, installs on a server during the software installation process. MTP is part of the Cisco IP Voice Media Streaming Application service on the Cisco Unified Communications Manager server. This course identifies the most common issues of MOH and MTP use and explains how to troubleshoot the issues.
